Patients who had high levels of circNRIP1 within their GC tissues had significantly shorter overall survival and disease-free survival; circNRIP1 expression correlated with tumour size and lymphatic invasion; circNRIP1 was higher in plasmatic exosomes from GC patients than normal subjects.

Description:

circNRIP1 is upregulated in gastric cancer and promotes malignant phenotypes by sponging miR-149-5p, thereby increasing AKT1 and activating the AKT/mTOR axis to enhance glycolysis/Warburg effect, EMT, and metastasis while suppressing autophagy. circNRIP1 can be transferred via exosomes and its biogenesis is promoted by the RBP QKI; high circNRIP1 associates with worse survival.
