| Biological function: |
Inhibits proliferation, induces apoptosis, suppresses migration and invasion, and reverses EMT; suppresses xenograft tumour growth. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
Binds the RNA-binding protein HuR (ELAVL1) and is associated with increased HuR expression; increases cleaved Caspase-3/9 and elevates E-cadherin while reducing Vimentin. |

| Clinical significance: |
Low circ-1073 expression was associated with an unfavourable prognosis (shorter RFS) and circ-1073 showed diagnostic value for BC (AUC 0.9898). |
| Description: |
circ-1073 (circRNA 0001073) derived from ACVR2A is down-regulated in breast cancer tissues/cells and functions as a tumor suppressor. Its overexpression inhibits proliferation, migration/invasion and EMT while promoting apoptosis, and it suppresses xenograft tumor growth, at least partly via interaction with the RBP HuR and associated changes in cleaved Caspase-3/9 and EMT markers. |
