| Biological function: |
CircCDC6 acts as a tumor suppressor in CRC, repressing cell proliferation, survival, glycolysis energy metabolism and in vivo tumor growth, while inducing apoptosis. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
CircCDC6 functions as a miR-3187-3p sponge to upregulate PRKAA2, thereby suppressing CRC growth and glycolysis metabolism. |

| Clinical significance: |
Low circCDC6 expression was associated with advanced CRC stage and poor overall survival, while relatively high circCDC6 expression was linked to early stage and higher overall survival. |
| Description: |
CircCDC6 is down-regulated in colorectal cancer tissues and cell lines, and higher circCDC6 expression is associated with better overall survival. Functionally, circCDC6 suppresses CRC cell proliferation, survival, glycolysis and xenograft tumor growth while promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, it acts as a sponge for miR-3187-3p to upregulate PRKAA2 in the circCDC6/miR-3187-3p/PRKAA2 axis. |
