Higher circPVT1 expression was correlated with lymph node metastasis, advanced TNM stage, and poor overall survival (OS) in patients with GBC; independent prognostic factor.

Description:

circPVT1 is up-regulated in gallbladder cancer and is associated with lymph node metastasis, advanced TNM stage, and poor overall survival. Functionally, circPVT1 promotes GBC cell proliferation, cell-cycle progression, migration and invasion, and inhibits apoptosis, and its knockdown suppresses xenograft tumor growth. Mechanistically, circPVT1 acts as a cytoplasmic miRNA sponge for miR-339-3p to increase MCL-1 expression (circPVT1/miR-339-3p/MCL-1 axis).
