circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: HMGB3
Associated microRNA: miR-145
Biological function: promotes proliferation, colony formation, migration and invasion/metastasis of NSCLC cells; promotes tumor growth in vivo
Molecular mechanism: ceRNA mechanism: circEPSTI1 sponges miR-145 to elevate HMGB3 expression
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); metastasis (promotes); EMT (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RNA Pull-Down; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); In Vivo Animal Model; Survival Analysis

Clinical significance:

High expression of circEPSTI1 was associated with low survival rate of NSCLC patients.

Description:

circEPSTI1 is up-regulated in NSCLC tissues/cells and its high level correlates with worse survival. Functionally, circEPSTI1 promotes NSCLC proliferation and metastasis-related behaviors and enhances tumor growth in vivo by sponging miR-145 to derepress HMGB3.

Confidence score:

0.7583
