circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: CXCR5
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: circSLC7A6 promotes CRC cell proliferation, invasion and tumorigenesis, and inhibits apoptosis; knockdown of exosomal circSLC7A6 attenuates CRC tumorigenesis in vitro and in vivo.
Molecular mechanism: Exosomal circSLC7A6 released from CAFs promotes CRC tumorigenesis by positively regulating CXCR5 expression; matrine inhibits CRC tumorigenesis by blocking exosomal circSLC7A6 secretion from CAFs.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); invasion (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RNase R Treatment; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; Colony Formation Assay; IF (Immunofluorescence); Transwell Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

circSLC7A6 is upregulated in CRC tumors, high circSLC7A6 expression is associated with lower overall survival, and advanced stages of CRC show higher circSLC7A6 levels.

Description:

This study identifies CAF-derived exosomal circSLC7A6 as an oncogenic circRNA in colorectal cancer. circSLC7A6 is upregulated in CRC tissues and cell lines, promotes proliferation, invasion and tumor growth, suppresses apoptosis, and acts through positive regulation of CXCR5. Matrine inhibits CRC tumorigenesis partly by reducing exosomal circSLC7A6 secretion from CAFs.

Confidence score:

0.7408

Other information
Title:
