Decreased expression is associated with unfavorable clinicopathological parameters (lymphovascular invasion, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, advanced TNM stage); potential biomarker and therapeutic target |
| Description: |
circDDX17 (hsa_circ_0002211), derived from the DDX17 gene, is significantly down-regulated in colorectal cancer tissues and is associated with aggressive clinicopathological features. Functional assays show that circDDX17 suppresses CRC cell proliferation, migration and invasion while promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, it is predicted to sponge hsa-miR-21-5p, but downstream targets were not experimentally confirmed. |
