circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
DN
Associated gene: IL-6, TNF-alpha, IL-10
Associated microRNA: hsa-miR-145-5p, hsa-miR-615-5p, hsa-miR-138-5p, hsa-miR-150-5p
Biological function: Anti-inflammatory; protective factor for CAD; attenuates inflammatory response by decreasing IL-6 and TNF-alpha and increasing IL-10.
Molecular mechanism: May act as a miRNA sponge (predicted) to modulate inflammation-related cytokines and pathways.
Biological pathway or process:

inflammation (inhibits); ceRNA regulation (other); HIF-1 signaling (other); MAPK (other); TGF-beta/SMAD (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Sanger Sequencing; Clinical Sample Validation; Cohort Study; ROC Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis; Transfection

Clinical significance:

Decreased circZNF609 expressions were independently associated with increased risks of CAD; moderate diagnostic value (AUC 0.761).

Description:

circZNF609 (hsa_circ_0000615) is down-regulated in peripheral blood leukocytes from CAD patients and is independently associated with lower CAD risk. Functionally, its overexpression in RAW264.7 macrophages reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-alpha) and increases IL-10, supporting an anti-inflammatory protective role; a ceRNA/miRNA-sponge mechanism was proposed via bioinformatics and literature.

Confidence score:

0.7156
