| Expression pattern: |
UP |
| Associated gene: |

| Associated microRNA: |
miR-340 |
| Biological function: |
Promotes glioblastoma cell proliferation; circNF1 silencing inhibits proliferation and colony formation. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circNF1 suppresses the maturation of miR-340 and can be directly bound by miR-340 (sponge interaction), leading to reduced mature miR-340; proliferation effects depend on miR-340 (rescue by miR-340 inhibitor). |
| Biological pathway or process: |
proliferation (promotes); ceRNA regulation (other) |

| Validation methods: |
RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis |
| Clinical significance: |
High circNF1 expression predicted poor survival and was an independent prognostic factor for GBM patients. |
| Description: |
circNF1 is up-regulated in glioblastoma and functions as an oncogenic circRNA by promoting GBM cell proliferation. Mechanistically, circNF1 binds miR-340 and suppresses its maturation, and miR-340 inhibition partially reverses the anti-proliferative effect of circNF1 silencing. High circNF1 level is associated with poor overall survival and acts as an independent prognostic factor. |
