Associated gene: -
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: Inhibits NSCLC cell proliferation and enhances chemosensitivity to cisplatin and gemcitabine (tumor suppressor role).
Molecular mechanism: Mechanism not experimentally defined in this study; authors suggest possible miRNA sponging and regulation of SMARCA5 affecting chemotherapy sensitivity.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (inhibits); drug resistance (inhibits)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; Survival Analysis

Clinical significance:

circ-SMARCA5 is decreased in NSCLC tumor tissues; higher circ-SMARCA5 expression independently predicts prolonged DFS and OS and correlates with less aggressive clinicopathological features.

Description:

circ-SMARCA5 is down-regulated in NSCLC tumor tissues and cell lines. Its higher expression is associated with smaller tumor size, less lymph node metastasis, lower TNM stage, and independently predicts longer DFS and OS. circ-SMARCA5 overexpression suppresses NSCLC cell proliferation and increases sensitivity to cisplatin and gemcitabine.

Confidence score:

0.6524
