circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: ABCG2
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: promotes acquired chemotherapy resistance (doxorubicin resistance) in multiple myeloma cells
Molecular mechanism: Upregulates ABCG2 mRNA and protein levels; ABCG2 mediates circRNA-induced chemoresistance (specific upstream mechanism such as miRNA sponge not investigated).
Biological pathway or process:

drug resistance (promotes); other pathway/process (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Transfection; CCK8; Western Blot

Clinical significance:

-

Description:

In doxorubicin-resistant multiple myeloma cell models (U266R and 8226R), hsa_circ_0007841 is up-regulated and promotes chemoresistance. Knockdown of hsa_circ_0007841 reduces IC50 and decreases ABCG2 mRNA/protein, while overexpression increases ABCG2 and resistance; ABCG2 inhibition blocks the resistance phenotype.

Confidence score:

0.3957
