circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: VEGFC
Associated microRNA: miR-513a-5p
Biological function: promotes RCC growth, proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT and metastasis
Molecular mechanism: Acts as a ceRNA/miRNA sponge for miR-513a-5p to increase VEGFC expression
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); metastasis (promotes); EMT (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; RNA Pull-Down; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Transwell Assay; Wound Healing Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; Survival Analysis; Clinical Sample Validation

Clinical significance:

Increased circMYLK expression led to a larger tumour size, distant metastasis and poor prognosis of RCC patients.

Description:

circMYLK is up-regulated in renal cell carcinoma and is associated with larger tumor size, distant metastasis, and poorer overall survival. Functionally, circMYLK promotes RCC proliferation, migration/invasion, EMT, and metastasis. Mechanistically, it localizes mainly in the cytoplasm and acts as a ceRNA that sponges miR-513a-5p to increase VEGFC expression.

Confidence score:

0.8037
