circIL4R (hsa_circ_0038718), derived from IL4R, is upregulated in colorectal cancer tissues and serum and mainly localizes to the cytoplasm. It promotes CRC proliferation, migration, invasion and metastasis by acting as a ceRNA for miR-761, thereby increasing TRIM29 and inducing TRIM29-mediated ubiquitination/degradation of PHLPP1 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling. High circIL4R is associated with aggressive clinicopathological features and poor OS/DFS and has diagnostic potential in serum. |
