Description:

CircZNF609 is upregulated in peripheral blood from diabetic retinopathy patients and in high glucose-stimulated hRMECs. It aggravates high glucose-induced endothelial cell injury by sponging and suppressing miR-150-5p, leading to reduced viability and increased apoptosis, tube formation, oxidative stress, and VEGFA/GLUT1 protein expression. The CircZNF609/miR-150-5p axis is proposed as a potential therapeutic target for diabetic retinopathy.
