Description:

In C. parvum-infected HCT-8 cells, ciRS-7 is up-regulated and functions as a miRNA sponge for miR-1270. Through the ciRS-7/miR-1270/relA (p65) ceRNA axis, it activates NF-kappaB signaling (including nos2 and cxcl2) and promotes parasite propagation, with evidence also suggesting an anti-apoptotic effect via increased Bcl-2.
