In AKI/I-R injury models, circYAP1 is down-regulated in patient whole blood and I/R-treated HK-2 cells. circYAP1 overexpression protects HK-2 cells by promoting viability, reducing apoptosis and inflammatory injury (cytokines/ROS) through sponging miR-21-5p and activating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.
