High circPLOD2 expression is associated with shorter overall survival and may act as a biomarker for colon cancer prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment.
circPLOD2 is upregulated in colon cancer tissues and cell lines and high expression is associated with poor overall survival. Functionally, circPLOD2 promotes proliferation, migration, invasion, tumor growth, and glycolytic/Warburg metabolism. Mechanistically, it sponges miR-513a-5p to activate SIX1, which enhances LDHA transcription and supports colon cancer progression.
