circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: TRAF6
Associated microRNA: miR-543
Biological function: circRASA2 accelerated the pathological process of periodontitis in vitro; knockdown of circRASA2 promoted proliferation, migration and osteogenic differentiation of LPS-treated PDLCs.
Molecular mechanism: circRASA2 acts as a sponge for miR-543 to up-regulate TRAF6 expression, thereby promoting periodontitis progression in vitro.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (other); proliferation (inhibits); migration (inhibits); other pathway/process (inhibits)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Bioinformatics Analysis; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; Transwell Assay; Western Blot

Clinical significance:

Description:

In an LPS-induced human PDLC periodontitis model, circRASA2 was up-regulated and promoted pathological injury. Silencing circRASA2 increased PDLC proliferation, migration and osteogenic differentiation, apparently by releasing miR-543 and reducing TRAF6 expression. The study suggests circRASA2 as a potential therapeutic target for periodontitis.

Confidence score:

0.5554
