| Clinical significance: |
Lower circNEIL3 expression is associated with lymph node metastasis and shorter overall survival in CRC; circNEIL3 may predict metastatic tendency and worse outcome. |
| Description: |
circNEIL3 (hsa_circ_0001460), derived from the NEIL3 gene, is down-regulated in CRC liver metastatic lesions versus paired primary tumors and is repressed by TGFbeta. It inhibits migration/invasion and metastasis by directly binding the RBP YBX1 and recruiting the E3 ligase Nedd4L to promote YBX1 polyubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. Clinically, lower circNEIL3 levels are associated with lymph node metastasis and poorer overall survival in CRC. |
