circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: GLUD1, Ago2
Associated microRNA: miR-497-5p
Biological function: CircDPP4 promotes PCa cell growth, proliferation, colony formation, motility, invasion and tumorigenicity, and inhibits apoptosis.
Molecular mechanism: CircDPP4 acts as a miR-497-5p sponge to relieve miR-497-5p-mediated suppression of GLUD1, thereby increasing GLUD1 expression and promoting malignant phenotypes of PCa cells.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); ceRNA regulation (promotes); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RNase R Treatment; Actinomycin D / DRB Stability Assay; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; EdU Staining; Colony Formation Assay; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; IHC (Immunohistochemistry); In Vivo Animal Model; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

CircDPP4 provides a possible therapy target for PCa.

Description:

CircDPP4 is up-regulated in prostate cancer tissues and cell lines. It promotes PCa cell proliferation, growth, motility, invasion and xenograft tumorigenicity while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, circDPP4 sponges miR-497-5p to increase GLUD1 expression, forming a circDPP4/miR-497-5p/GLUD1 regulatory axis and suggesting circDPP4 as a potential therapeutic target.

Confidence score:

0.8299
