circRNA-SMO is upregulated in glioblastoma tissues and cell lines and high expression is associated with poor prognosis. Functionally, circRNA-SMO promotes glioblastoma proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion, and xenograft tumor growth while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, it acts as a ceRNA by sponging miR-326, thereby increasing CEP85 expression.
