circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: WTAP, AGO2, GLUT1, HK2, PKM2
Associated microRNA: miR-141-3p
Biological function: promotes HCC cell proliferation, migration and invasion; promotes glycolysis; increases sorafenib resistance; promotes tumor growth in vivo
Molecular mechanism: Acts as a miRNA sponge (ceRNA) for miR-141-3p to regulate WTAP, thereby promoting HCC progression and glycolysis-related gene expression.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); glycolysis (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes); drug resistance (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
M
Validation methods:

Microarray; RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); FISH / smFISH; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; In Vivo Animal Model; IHC (Immunohistochemistry); Western Blot; Bioinformatics Analysis; Survival Analysis

Clinical significance:

High circDLG1 expression was correlated with shorter overall survival and may serve as a biomarker for HCC detection.

Description:

circDLG1 is up-regulated in HCC tissues and cell lines and is associated with shorter overall survival. Functionally, circDLG1 promotes HCC tumor growth and enhances glycolysis and sorafenib resistance. Mechanistically, circDLG1 mainly localizes to the cytoplasm and acts as a sponge for miR-141-3p to de-repress WTAP.

Confidence score:

0.8244
