circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: SOX4
Associated microRNA: miR-338-3p
Biological function: Promotes CAF migration and invasion; enhances A549 cell proliferation, migration and invasion; promotes NSCLC tumour growth in vivo.
Molecular mechanism: circFARP1 acts as a miR-338-3p sponge in CAFs and antagonizes miR-338-3p-mediated inhibition of SOX4, thereby regulating SOX4 expression and secretion to promote NSCLC progression.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (promotes); proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); metastasis (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; FISH / smFISH; RNA Pull-Down; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); IHC (Immunohistochemistry); In Vivo Animal Model; Clinical Sample Validation; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

circFARP1 might be a potential therapy target for NSCLC.

Description:

circFARP1 is up-regulated in cancer-associated fibroblasts from NSCLC and promotes CAF migration/invasion as well as A549 proliferation, migration, invasion and tumor growth. Mechanistically, circFARP1 functions as a miR-338-3p sponge to relieve inhibition of SOX4, forming a circFARP1/miR-338-3p/SOX4 axis that supports NSCLC progression and may represent a therapeutic target.

Confidence score:

0.7932

Other information
