Circ_0002099 is a SEMA5A-derived circRNA that is upregulated in bladder cancer tissues and cell lines, and high expression is associated with poorer prognosis and tumor grade. Functionally, Circ_0002099 promotes BLCA proliferation, migration, invasion, tumorigenesis, and EMT. Mechanistically, FUS promotes Circ_0002099 biogenesis, while cytoplasmic Circ_0002099 sponges miR-217-5p and miR-103a-3p to increase KRAS and activate the WNT/beta-catenin-related EMT program.
