circAHNAK1 expression was negatively correlated with larger tumors, positive lymph node metastasis, and late TNM stage; low expression predicted poor OS and DFS; ROC analysis suggested diagnostic value distinguishing TNBC from normal breast tissue.

circAHNAK1 is down-regulated in TNBC and acts as a tumor-suppressive circRNA. It mainly localizes in the cytoplasm and functions as a ceRNA that sponges miR-421 to increase RASA1 expression, thereby inhibiting TNBC proliferation and metastasis and associating with better patient survival when highly expressed.
