| Associated microRNA: |
miR-942-5p |
| Biological function: |
Circ HECW2 contributes to ox-LDL-induced hCMEC dysfunction; knockdown of circ HECW2 enhances cell proliferation and tube formation and inhibits apoptosis in ox-LDL-treated hCMECs. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
Circ HECW2 acts as a sponge for miR-942-5p and regulates TLR4 expression through the miR-942-5p/TLR4 axis. |

| Clinical significance: |
Circ HECW2 was expressed at a high level in the serum of CAD patients and may provide evidence for the pathogenesis and treatment of CAD. |
| Description: |
Circ HECW2 is up-regulated in CAD patient serum and ox-LDL-treated hCMECs. Functionally, circ HECW2 aggravates ox-LDL-induced endothelial cell dysfunction by suppressing proliferation and tube formation and promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, it sponges miR-942-5p to regulate TLR4 expression through the circ HECW2/miR-942-5p/TLR4 axis. |
