High circ_0000798 is associated with shorter overall survival and might correlate with poor prognosis of RCC patients; circ_0000798 may have potential in RCC diagnosis and development.
Circ_0000798 is a BPTF-derived human circRNA upregulated in RCC tissues and cell lines, and high expression is associated with poorer overall survival. Functionally, circ_0000798 promotes RCC cell growth, colony formation, migration, invasion, and xenograft tumor growth while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, it acts as a miR-589-5p sponge to increase G3BP1 expression, forming a circ_0000798/miR-589-5p/G3BP1 ceRNA axis.
