circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: IVNS1ABP, Ago2
Associated microRNA: miR-145-5p
Biological function: promotes cell viability/proliferation, colony formation, invasion, and in vivo tumor growth in gastric cancer
Molecular mechanism: Acts as a miRNA sponge for miR-145-5p, affecting IVNS1ABP expression (ceRNA-like mechanism) and associating with Ago2 complex.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (promotes); proliferation (promotes); invasion (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
H
M
Validation methods:

Microarray; RT-qPCR; FISH / smFISH; RNase R Treatment; Actinomycin D / DRB Stability Assay; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Transfection; MTT; Colony Formation Assay; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; Clinical Sample Validation; Survival Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis; ROC Analysis

Clinical significance:

High circDUSP16 expression is an independent prognostic factor of poor survival in patients with GC.

Description:

circDUSP16 (hsa_circ_0003855), derived from DUSP16, is up-regulated in gastric cancer tissues and primarily localized in the cytoplasm. It promotes GC cell proliferation/viability, colony formation, invasion, and xenograft tumor growth by sponging miR-145-5p, thereby relieving repression of IVNS1ABP. High circDUSP16 expression predicts poorer overall survival and is an independent prognostic factor in GC.

Confidence score:

0.8655
