circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UN
Associated gene: TNF-a, IL-1b, MCP-1, PI3K, Akt, mTOR
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: circUBAP2 correlates with improved microcirculatory perfusion and better outcomes, inhibits macrophage migration, promotes M2 polarization, and suppresses inflammatory cytokine production.
Molecular mechanism: circUBAP2 suppresses inflammatory behavior in macrophages by inhibiting cytokine production and the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.
Biological pathway or process:

migration (inhibits); macrophage polarization (promotes); inflammation (inhibits); PI3K/AKT/mTOR (inhibits); immune regulation (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; Transwell Assay; Flow Cytometry(Non-apoptosis/cycle); Western Blot; Survival Analysis; ROC Analysis

Clinical significance:

circUBAP2 correlates with microcirculatory perfusion and predicts 30-day in-hospital mortality; higher circUBAP2 expression is associated with better prognosis and lower risk of in-hospital death.

Description:

In cardiogenic shock patients receiving V-A ECMO, higher blood circUBAP2 expression is associated with improved microcirculatory perfusion, better 30-day survival, and lower in-hospital mortality risk. Functionally, circUBAP2 suppresses macrophage migration and inflammatory cytokine production, promotes M2 polarization, and inhibits the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway.

Confidence score:

0.6527
