circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
DS
Associated gene: TGFBR3
Associated microRNA: miR-513a-5p
Biological function: Protects endothelial cells from injury; promotes endothelial cell proliferation and viability; inhibits apoptosis and migration; delays atherogenesis and reduces intraplaque neovascularization.
Molecular mechanism: Acts as a ceRNA by sponging miR-513a-5p to upregulate TGFBR3.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (other); proliferation (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); migration (inhibits); angiogenesis (inhibits)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

Back-Splice Junction PCR / divergent primers PCR; RNase R Treatment; Sanger Sequencing; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Bioinformatics Analysis; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; EdU Staining; Wound Healing Assay; In Vivo Animal Model; H&E Staining; IHC (Immunohistochemistry)

Clinical significance:

Proposed as a biomarker for atherogenesis; lower circ_0001785 levels were associated with more severe coronary stenosis.

Description:

Exosome-derived circ_0001785 is dysregulated in CHD/atherosclerosis (reduced in circulating blood/leukocytes but increased in plaque tissue). Functionally, circ_0001785 protects endothelial cells and delays atherogenesis by acting as a ceRNA that sponges miR-513a-5p, thereby upregulating TGFBR3 to promote proliferation and inhibit apoptosis/migration and intraplaque neovascularization.

Confidence score:

0.8166
