Clinical significance:

Lower circFBXW7 expression was correlated with tumor size, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis; the authors proposed circFBXW7 as a stable biomarker for ccRCC combined treatment with propofol.

Description:

In ccRCC, circFBXW7 is down-regulated in tumor tissues and RCC cell lines, while propofol treatment increases its expression. CircFBXW7 acts as a tumor suppressor by directly targeting miR-942, inhibiting proliferation, migration and invasion and promoting apoptosis; this axis contributes to the anticancer effect of propofol in vitro and in a xenograft model.
