circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
DN
Associated gene: March1
Associated microRNA: miR-653
Biological function: suppresses bladder cancer growth; inhibits proliferation
Molecular mechanism: acts as a competing endogenous RNA (miRNA sponge) to bind miR-653 and elevate March1 expression
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (inhibits); cell cycle (inhibits); ceRNA regulation (other)

Detected method:
Q
S
Validation methods:

Back-Splice Junction PCR / divergent primers PCR; RNase R Treatment; Sanger Sequencing; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; FISH / smFISH; RNA Pull-Down; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Cell Cycle Assay; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; In Vivo Animal Model; Western Blot; IHC (Immunohistochemistry); Survival Analysis; RNA-seq

Clinical significance:

Higher levels of ciRs-6 consistently correlated with lower tumor grade and earlier T stage, and a higher level of ciRs-6 in bladder cancer positively correlated with better overall survival.

Description:

ciRs-6 is down-regulated in bladder cancer and acts as a tumor suppressor by sponging miR-653 in the cytoplasm, thereby relieving repression of March1. Higher ciRs-6 expression is associated with better overall survival and less advanced clinicopathologic features.

Confidence score:

0.8702
