circ_0073181 was highly expressed especially in advanced HCC tumor stages and might be a potential biomarker and therapeutic target.
circ_0073181 is upregulated in HCC tissues and cell lines and is associated with advanced tumor stage. Functional experiments indicate that circ_0073181 promotes HCC proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, metastasis and xenograft tumor growth while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, circ_0073181 sponges miR-548p to regulate PTPRE expression, and may contribute to HCC progression partly through ERK1/2, JNK and p38 signaling activation.
