This study used fluorescent paper-based analytical devices to detect circRNA-HIAT1 in plasma for gastric cancer screening. circRNA-HIAT1 was significantly suppressed in GC patient plasma, and its combined detection with miRNA-21 markedly improved diagnostic performance. The paper also describes circRNA-HIAT1 as a GC-related circRNA that can sponge miRNA-21 and suppress ERK signaling based on prior biological context.
