circ_0079558 is up-regulated in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and cell lines and acts as an oncogenic circRNA. It promotes PTC cell proliferation, migration, invasion and xenograft tumor growth while inhibiting apoptosis, mainly by sponging miR-26b-5p to increase MET expression and activate MET/AKT signaling; a miR-198/FGFR1-related proliferative axis was also implicated.
