May play a role in breast cancer occurrence and progression; lower expression is associated with lymph node metastasis, invasive ductal carcinoma, and potential poorer prognosis; may serve as a promising diagnostic marker. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
Predicted ceRNA/miRNA sponge mechanism involving five putative target miRNAs; the interaction was not experimentally validated. |

Downregulated expression is associated with lymph node metastasis and histological type; ROC AUC was 0.690, suggesting potential diagnostic value; low expression might be correlated with poorer prognosis. |
| Description: |
This study identified hsa_circ_0043278 as a significantly down-regulated circRNA in human breast cancer tissues by microarray and validated its decreased expression by qRT-PCR in clinical samples. Its lower expression was associated with lymph node metastasis and histological type, and ROC analysis suggested potential diagnostic value. Bioinformatics prediction suggested that hsa_circ_0043278 may function through putative miRNA sponge interactions, but these interactions were not experimentally validated. |
