circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: YES1, beta-catenin, c-Myc, CyclinD1
Associated microRNA: miR-498
Biological function: circ-ZNF124 promotes NSCLC malignant progression; circ-ZNF124 downregulation inhibits cell proliferation and invasion, induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, and blocks tumor growth in vivo.
Molecular mechanism: circ-ZNF124 acts as a sponge of miR-498 to regulate YES1 expression and activates the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway through the circ-ZNF124/miR-498/YES1 axis.
Biological pathway or process:

Wnt/beta-catenin (promotes); proliferation (promotes); invasion (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); cell cycle (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; MTT; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Cell Cycle Assay; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; Luciferase Reporter Assay; In Vivo Animal Model; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

The therapeutic target of circ-ZNF124 may be a promising approach for the treatment of NSCLC.

Description:

circ-ZNF124 is up-regulated in NSCLC tissues and cell lines and functions as an oncogenic circRNA. Its knockdown suppresses NSCLC proliferation, invasion and xenograft tumor growth while inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Mechanistically, circ-ZNF124 sponges miR-498 to regulate YES1 and activate the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.

Confidence score:

0.6542

Other information
Title:

Circ-ZNF124 downregulation inhibits non-small cell lung cancer progression partly by inactivating the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway via mediating the miR-498/YES1 axis.
