A combination of circFARSA and circBANP levels discriminated patients with tumor recurrence from those without, with AUC 0.737; the best predictive value was for low grade tumors with AUC 0.839.

Description:

Although circBANP was not significantly different between BC patients and healthy controls, it was up-regulated in recurrent BC compared with non-recurrent patients. The study proposes serum circBANP, especially combined with circFARSA, as a prognostic biomarker for recurrence, with predicted miRNA-sponge activity toward miR-516b-5p.
