| Biological function: |
inhibits proliferation, migration and invasion; promotes apoptosis; suppresses tumor growth |
| Molecular mechanism: |
CircCNIH4 upregulates DKK2 and FRZB, leading to inactivation of the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway (reduced beta-catenin), thereby inhibiting gastric cancer progression. |

RT-qPCR; divergent primers PCR; Sanger Sequencing; RNase R Treatment; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; Transfection; MTT; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; Clinical Sample Validation |
| Clinical significance: |
may be a biomarker for the diagnosis of gastric cancer |
| Description: |
CircCNIH4 (hsa_circ_0000190) is down-regulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines and mainly localizes to the cytoplasm. Its overexpression suppresses proliferation/migration/invasion and promotes apoptosis by inhibiting Wnt/beta-catenin signaling, at least partly through upregulating DKK2 and FRZB; DKK2/FRZB knockdown reverses these effects, and circCNIH4 also reduces xenograft tumor growth. |
