Description:

CircHIPK3 is significantly up-regulated in human osteoarthritis cartilage tissue and OA chondrocytes. It functions through a CircHIPK3/miR-124/SOX8 regulatory axis, where CircHIPK3 sponges miR-124 to regulate SOX8 and thereby inhibits OA chondrocyte apoptosis; knockdown of CircHIPK3 increases miR-124 activity, suppresses SOX8, and promotes apoptosis.
