circSLC22A23 is up-regulated in gastric cancer tissues, plasma, and cell lines and high expression is associated with vascular invasion and worse prognosis. Functionally, circSLC22A23 promotes GC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Mechanistically, it binds HNRNPU and activates EGFR expression, supporting an oncogenic circSLC22A23-HNRNPU-EGFR regulatory mechanism.
