High circ-ATAD1 expression is associated with larger tumor size, deeper invasion, positive lymph node metastasis, advanced TNM stage, adverse prognosis, and is an independent prognostic factor in GC patients.
Circ-ATAD1 is upregulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines and high expression predicts unfavorable prognosis. Functionally, it promotes GC cell proliferation, migration and invasion while inhibiting apoptosis. Mechanistically, circ-ATAD1 acts as a cytoplasmic ceRNA that sponges miR-140-3p to increase YY1, which activates PCIF1 transcription.
