High circ-FOXP1 correlated with larger tumor size, microvascular invasion, advanced TNM stage and poor prognosis; serum circ-FOXP1 discriminated HCC patients from healthy controls with AUC 0.9318.
circ-FOXP1 is up-regulated in HCC tissues, serum and cell lines and functions as an oncogenic circRNA. SOX9 induces circ-FOXP1 expression, while cytoplasmic circ-FOXP1 sponges miR-875-3p and miR-421 to elevate oncogenic targets including SOX9, promoting proliferation, invasion, tumor growth and poor prognosis. Serum circ-FOXP1 also shows diagnostic potential for distinguishing HCC patients from healthy controls.

Circular RNA circ-FOXP1 induced by SOX9 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma progression via sponging miR-875-3p and miR-421.
