Biological function: circRNA ciRS-7 overexpression correlated with advanced disease and poor prognosis in NSCLC patients; down-regulation inhibited A549 cell proliferation and promoted apoptosis.
Molecular mechanism: not specified; functional inhibition of circRNA ciRS-7 reduced proliferation and increased apoptosis in A549 cells.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis

Clinical significance:

circRNA ciRS-7 high expression was associated with larger tumor size, lymph node metastasis, poor TNM stage, shorter DFS and OS, and independently predicted unfavorable DFS and OS.

Description:

In this study, circRNA ciRS-7 was up-regulated in NSCLC tumor tissues and NSCLC cell lines. High tumor tissue expression correlated with advanced clinicopathological features and poorer DFS/OS, while experimental down-regulation in A549 cells suppressed proliferation and promoted apoptosis, suggesting an oncogenic role and potential clinical prognostic value in NSCLC.

Confidence score:

0.6419

Other information
Title:
