circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: CTCF
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: promotes proliferation; promotes migration; promotes invasion; promotes tumor growth
Molecular mechanism: CTCF acts as an upstream transcription factor regulating circMBOAT2 expression; circMBOAT2 interacts with CTCF (RIP-confirmed); norepinephrine/chronic stress upregulates CTCF and circMBOAT2, enhancing NSCLC progression
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Sanger Sequencing; RNase R Treatment; Actinomycin D / DRB Stability Assay; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; FISH / smFISH; divergent primers PCR; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Wound Healing Assay; Transwell Assay; In Vivo Animal Model; H&E Staining; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

circMBOAT2 may serve as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for NSCLC as well as the treatment of comorbid depression in NSCLC patients.

Description:

circMBOAT2 is up-regulated in NSCLC cells and tumor tissues and functions as an oncogenic circRNA that promotes proliferation, migration, invasion, and in vivo tumor growth, particularly under chronic stress/NE conditions. The study supports an upstream regulatory relationship where stress-induced CTCF increases circMBOAT2 expression, and ASO-mediated silencing of circMBOAT2 suppresses tumor growth.

Confidence score:

0.7654
