Circ-GSK3B may act as an anti-tumor gene and potential therapeutic target in LUAD development.
circ-GSK3B (hsa_circ_0066903) is down-regulated in LUAD tissues and cells and functions as a tumor suppressor. It sponges miR-3681-3p and miR-3909 to increase GSK3B expression, and also binds FKBP51 to prevent FKBP51-GSK-3beta interaction, thereby inhibiting GSK-3beta S9 phosphorylation and inactivating Wnt/beta-catenin signaling. Functionally, circ-GSK3B suppresses LUAD proliferation, migration, EMT, stemness, tumor growth, and metastasis.
