circ-ITCH is downregulated in prostate cancer tissues; higher circ-ITCH expression is associated with lower pathologic T stage, reduced lymph node metastasis risk, longer DFS, and better OS. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
Not experimentally investigated in this study; the authors hypothesized that circ-ITCH might act as an anti-oncogene through miRNA sponging and Wnt/beta-Catenin pathway inhibition, but stated that further validation was needed. |

circ-ITCH distinguished tumor tissues from paired adjacent tissues with AUC 0.812; low expression correlated with advanced pathologic T stage and high lymph node metastasis risk; high expression predicted longer DFS and OS and independently predicted better survival. |
| Description: |
This retrospective clinical study found that circ-ITCH is significantly downregulated in prostate cancer tumor tissues compared with paired adjacent tissues. Low circ-ITCH expression was associated with advanced pathologic T stage, higher lymph node metastasis risk, and poorer survival, while high expression independently predicted better DFS and OS. The study supports circ-ITCH as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in prostate cancer, but did not experimentally investigate its molecular mechanism. |
