circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: ZEB1, E-cadherin, N-cadherin, MMP-2, VEGFA
Associated microRNA: miR-1236-3p
Biological function: circ-CSPP1 promotes ovarian cancer cell growth, proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT and ovarian cancer development.
Molecular mechanism: circ-CSPP1 acts as a miR-1236-3p sponge, attenuates the inhibitory effect of miR-1236-3p on ZEB1, and thereby promotes EMT and ovarian cancer development.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); EMT (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
M
Validation methods:

Microarray; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Bioinformatics Analysis; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; MTT; Wound Healing Assay; Transwell Assay; Western Blot

Clinical significance:

circ-CSPP1 expression was positively correlated with FIGO staging and differentiation, and the findings provide a new perspective for early diagnosis and targeted therapy of ovarian cancer.

Description:

circ-CSPP1 (hsa_circ_0001806), derived from CSPP1, is up-regulated in ovarian cancer tissues and higher expression correlates with more advanced FIGO stage and poorer differentiation. Functionally, it promotes ovarian cancer cell growth, migration and invasion by sponging miR-1236-3p, relieving miR-1236-3p-mediated inhibition of ZEB1 and promoting EMT-related changes.

Confidence score:

0.6815
