circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: common target mRNAs
Associated microRNA: hsa-miR-26b-3p, hsa-miR-125a-3p, hsa-miR-330-5p, hsa-miR-382-5p
Biological function: promotes pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, invasion and migration
Molecular mechanism: circRHOT1 may function as a cytoplasmic ceRNA/miRNA sponge by binding hsa-miR-26b-3p, hsa-miR-125a-3p, hsa-miR-330-5p and hsa-miR-382-5p, thereby regulating target mRNAs and tumor-associated pathways including MAPK, Wnt and Ras signaling pathways.

Clinical significance:

circRHOT1 may be a new potential therapeutic target for pancreatic cancer

Description:

circRHOT1 (hsa_circ_0005397), derived from RHOT1, is upregulated in pancreatic cancer tissues and cell lines and is mainly localized in the cytoplasm. Knockdown of circRHOT1 suppresses pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, colony formation, invasion and migration. The study suggests circRHOT1 may act as an oncogenic ceRNA by binding miR-26b/miR-125a/miR-330/miR-382 family miRNAs and regulating tumor-associated pathways such as MAPK, Wnt and Ras signaling.

Confidence score:

0.7404
