Description:

circFGGY (hsa_circ_0006633), derived from FGGY, is down-regulated in HCC and mainly localizes to the cytoplasm. It suppresses HCC proliferation, migration/invasion and EMT and inhibits xenograft tumor growth by sponging miR-545-3p to increase Smad7, thereby restraining TGF-beta/SMAD-driven EMT. Low circFGGY expression is associated with poor overall survival after hepatectomy, suggesting prognostic value.
